330-Gallon Reconditioned IBC Totes

A 330 gallon reconditioned IBC tote is the full-size caged container after rinsing and inspection. It pairs the most common tote capacity with a cleaner starting condition, which is why operations that put totes straight into service, without an in-house wash step, often specify it.

What reconditioning covers on a 330 gallon tote

Reconditioned and rinsed describe the same range on this site: the tote has been cleaned or rinsed and inspected before sale. Not every lot gets identical treatment, so treat "reconditioned" as the start of a conversation. When you request pricing, ask how the lot was rinsed, what was inspected, and whether any valves, caps or gaskets were replaced.

A rinse matters more at this size than many buyers expect. The taller bottle, about 53 inches on a roughly 48 × 40 inch base, is harder to reach into and harder to inspect by hand through a top opening that is commonly 6 inches. Having that work done before delivery saves real time when you are receiving totes by the truckload.

It also changes what you need on site. An as-returned full-size tote may need a pressure washer, a drain area and a plan for the rinse water before it is useful. A reconditioned 330 usually needs only your own final check and any product-specific cleaning, which is why buyers without dedicated wash space lean this way even when the per-unit price is higher.

Reasons buyers specify a reconditioned 330

  1. No wash bay. Many sites have nowhere to rinse a 150 lb, 330 gallon container or dispose of the rinse water. Buying it rinsed sidesteps that.
  2. Straight into racking. Totes arriving rinsed and inspected can go into position on receipt, after your own check.
  3. Consistent fleet. A reconditioned lot tends to look and behave more uniformly than an as-returned lot, which helps when totes rotate between crews or customers.
  4. Volume per pallet position. You still get 330 gallons on a standard footprint, 55 gallons more than the compact size.

Every condition and grade offered at this capacity is gathered on the 330 gallon IBC totes page. For the general condition question, the reconditioned IBC totes hub and shop by condition page explain the difference between condition levels across all sizes.

Choosing a grade

Reconditioning does not change a tote's history. A rinsed tote that once carried an industrial chemical is still a non-food-grade tote. So the grade choice comes before the condition choice:

Typical applications for this combination

Process and production lines that rotate totes between filling, holding and dispensing appreciate the cleaner start, especially when a compatible product follows. Agricultural operations use reconditioned 330s for fertilizer-water mixing and irrigation reserves where rinse residue would be a nuisance. Rainwater systems on commercial buildings often line up several 330s; see rainwater and non-potable storage. Hose-fed setups usually add a garden hose adapter to the bottom valve.

A rinse is not a sanitation step for your product, and it does not establish hazmat transport status. If you will ship regulated materials, a reused IBC needs a current periodic test and inspection under 49 CFR; we do not claim retest status unless confirmed in your quote.

Receiving a reconditioned shipment

Reconditioned lots are meant to cut your workload, but a short receiving routine still pays off, because transit can loosen caps or knock a cage.

When totes arrive, spot-check a sample before signing: look inside a few bottles, operate several valves, check cage welds near the top corners where the taller frame takes knocks, and confirm pallets are intact. Empties stack; filled totes often can within the rating on each unit's label. If you would rather inspect at the source, pickup by arrangement is available at our Pennsville, NJ and Tampa, FL yards. Delivered orders ship LTL quoted to your ZIP, or by full truckload of about 60 totes quoted individually, with quantity pricing at higher volumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does reconditioned mean the 330 gallon tote is like new?

No. Reconditioned on this site means the tote was cleaned or rinsed and inspected before sale. It is still a second-use container with a service history. Ask what preparation and component work was done on the specific lot, and request current photos to judge cosmetic and functional condition.

Are valves replaced on reconditioned 330 gallon totes?

It depends on the lot. Some lots have component work such as valve, cap or gasket replacement and others do not. Ask when requesting your quote. Replacement valves, caps and gaskets are also available as accessories if you want to standardize fittings across your totes.

Is a reconditioned 330 better than a used 330?

It is better if you lack wash capacity or need totes ready for use on arrival. A used 330 is the same container sold as returned from service, usually at a lower unit price, and suits buyers who clean in-house or use totes for rough service where residue matters less.

How many reconditioned 330 gallon totes fit on a truck?

Roughly 60 fit on one full truck, and each load is priced on its own based on where it is going. If you need fewer, LTL freight is priced to your ZIP, or you can collect from Pennsville, NJ or Tampa, FL by arrangement. The per-tote price steps down as quantity rises.
