An IBC tote is an intermediate bulk container: a reusable, palletized vessel sized between a drum and a tank. A single tote holds roughly five to six drums' worth of liquid on a footprint close to a standard pallet, which is why IBC totes are the default bulk package for chemicals, food ingredients, water, oils, cleaners and agricultural inputs. Once a tote leaves its first service, it moves into the secondary market, where buyers pick it up for storage, liquid handling, irrigation, rainwater collection and process work.
Bulk IBC Totes, part of Wholesale Industry LLC, sells caged IBC totes from yards in Pennsville, New Jersey and Tampa, Florida. You can browse the full range on the IBC tote shop or narrow it down with the filters below.
Most caged IBC totes share the same basic parts. Knowing them makes it easier to inspect a tote, order fittings and describe what you need.
The two caged sizes share the same footprint orientation logic but differ mainly in height. Choose by where the tote will live and how much you need to hold per unit. For a deeper breakdown, read our 275 vs 330 gallon tote comparison.
| Feature | 275-gallon tote | 330-gallon tote |
|---|---|---|
| Approximate dimensions | 40 × 48 × 46 in | 48 × 40 × 53 in |
| Approximate empty weight | 135 lb | 150 lb |
| Best fit | Lower clearance, trailers, sheds, everyday storage | More volume per footprint, fewer units per job |
| Typical buyers | Farms, homeowners, small shops, rainwater projects | Processors, plants, larger water and liquid storage |
Exact dimensions and weight vary slightly by model and are confirmed with your quote. Shop each size directly: 275 gallon IBC totes or 330 gallon IBC totes, or compare everything on the shop by size page.
Condition is the second big decision. Both options are secondhand containers; the difference is how much preparation happens before the tote reaches you.
Sold as returned from service. Previous contents vary by lot, so review the lot history before you buy. Used IBC totes suit buyers who plan to clean the tote themselves or who need non-critical storage at the lowest entry point.
Cleaned or rinsed and inspected. On this site "reconditioned" and "rinsed" mean the same range. Ask what preparation and component work was done on the offered lot. See reconditioned IBC totes.
Tell us the application. A tote headed for irrigation has different needs than one going into a production line. Compare options on shop by condition.
Grade describes history, not a certificate. A food grade IBC tote on this site is one whose previous contents were food, beverage or ingredient products, with an HDPE bottle suitable for food contact. A non-food-grade IBC tote carried industrial products such as cleaners, coatings, lubricants or agricultural chemicals.
Be careful with food reuse. A used tote is not automatically ready for food products or drinking water. If you plan to store anything for human or animal consumption, confirm the previous contents, the cleaning performed and the suitability for your application and any regulations that apply to you. For irrigation, wash water and industrial liquids, non-food-grade totes are usually the practical choice. More detail is on shop by grade.
Not every IBC has a steel cage. We also carry rigid, all-plastic, rotationally molded IBC totes. These have a thick single-piece body and integrated base, so there is no cage to rust or bend.
Rigid models are heavier-walled and handle rough outdoor use well, but availability is more limited than caged totes. Ask about current stock on your quote.
Bulk totes earn their place because they are easy to move, fill and drain. Typical applications include:

Whether you buy one tote or sixty, a quick inspection protects you. Look at current lot photos (available on request) or check units at pickup.
Pricing works on quantity tiers, so larger orders lower the per-tote price. A full truckload holds about 60 totes and is quoted individually. Other factors that move price include size, condition, grade, the specific lot, rigid vs caged construction and freight distance. Availability and price are confirmed with the quote rather than listed as fixed numbers, because lots change.
Pickup is available by arrangement at our Pennsville, NJ yard and our Tampa, FL yard. If you are searching for an IBC tote near me and you are in the Delaware Valley or the Gulf Coast of Florida, pickup may be the simplest route. Everywhere else, smaller orders ship by LTL freight quoted to your ZIP code, and full truckloads are quoted per load. See all locations.
Most tote projects need at least one fitting. We stock covers, garden hose adapters, camlock and threaded adapters, replacement valves, caps and gaskets. Browse the full IBC fittings and adapters range and add parts to the same quote.
Have empty totes taking up space? We also buy totes. Send details through sell your IBC totes with the quantity, size, previous contents and location.
To get an accurate quote, send us the size (275 or 330 gallon, or a rigid model), condition (used or reconditioned), grade (food or non-food), quantity, intended use and your delivery ZIP code. We confirm the lot, availability and freight with your quote, and current lot photos are available before you commit. Start on the request a quote page or call 855-620-3426. You can also review how photos and orders are confirmed on tote photos and order review.
No. Every tote we sell is an empty container. Used totes are sold as returned from service and reconditioned totes after rinsing and inspection, but none are sold or shipped with product in them. Prior contents only describe the tote's history, which is how food grade and non-food grade listings are sorted.
IBC stands for intermediate bulk container. It is a reusable, palletized container sized between a drum and a fixed tank. The most common caged IBC totes hold 275 or 330 gallons and are built from an HDPE inner bottle inside a galvanized steel cage on a pallet base, so they can be moved with a forklift or pallet jack.
A 275-gallon caged IBC tote is approximately 40 by 48 by 46 inches and weighs roughly 135 pounds empty. A 330-gallon tote is approximately 48 by 40 by 53 inches and roughly 150 pounds empty. Exact dimensions vary slightly by model and are confirmed with your quote.
We list both food-grade and non-food-grade totes. Food-grade means the tote's history is food, beverage or ingredient contents with an HDPE bottle suitable for food contact. A used tote is not automatically ready for food or drinking water, so confirm previous contents, cleaning and suitability for your use and any regulations before reuse.
Used totes are sold as returned from service, and previous contents vary by lot. Reconditioned totes, also called rinsed totes on this site, have been cleaned or rinsed and inspected. Ask what preparation and component work was done on the specific lot offered to you so you know what to expect.
Pickup is available by arrangement at our yards in Pennsville, New Jersey and Tampa, Florida. If neither is close, we quote LTL freight to your ZIP code for smaller orders and quote full truckloads individually. Contact us before driving out so the lot is ready and confirmed.
A full truckload is about 60 totes. Truckloads are quoted individually based on size, condition, grade and destination. Buying by the truckload usually lowers the per-tote price compared with small LTL orders because quantity pricing tiers apply.
Empty caged totes stack readily, and filled totes can often be stacked within the rating printed on the unit's label. Always stack on a level, solid surface, check that cages and pallets are undamaged and never exceed the label rating. Rigid Square Stackable models are designed with stacking in mind.
Yes. If you have empty totes to sell, send the quantity, size, previous contents, condition and pickup location through the sell your IBC totes page. We review the details and follow up about the totes.
